Eric's Story

I haven't been active on Classmates before, but I thought that it would be fun to see what everyone else is doing now. Since I am curious about what people are up to, I guess you're curious about me too. After Cal High I went to Hayward State and studied International Business with German as a minor. When I had 1 1/2 years left at Hayward I met a Swedish nanny, Camilla. Then when I graduated it was time for us to get married or move to Sweden. I deecided to give Sweden a try. Since I was almost fluent in German, I was able to pick up Swedish in three months. In 1999 Camilla and I got married and we bought our first house in Karlskrona, Sweden. Our son, Adam, was born in 2000 and our daughter, Hanna, was born in 2004. I've been in sales and purchasing since I came over to Sweden and I've had some really interesting jobs since I speak English so well - everybody has to be good at something. . . lling all over the world on business and pleasure before we had kids, but I travel a little less now. We try to make it over to the States once a year to visit my family. My dad has been over to Sweden once and my mom has been over here four times. One of my brothers and my sister have visited me in Sweden so far. I try to stay in shape and I do a lot of long distance races in marathons, cycling, cross-country skiing and triathlons. In 2007 I did my fourth triathlon in the Iron Man distance. I promised my wife that I won't do anymore IM's again until I turn 40. Then I plan to do one when I'm 50, 60 and 70 if I'm still healthy. I'm also one of the coaches for my son's soccer team. Sweden is a nice place for kids to grow up in a safe protected environment. So, I do not think we will be moving to any other country too soon. I hope that you can also write a few words about yourself for all of our curious classmates.
