Eric's Story
Hmmm, where do I start? I have done many things in my life so far, yet I have to say that the move to Germany was the biggest change in my life. I had served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. I served a total of three terms in Germany.
In 1992, came the Force Reduction and at this time I decided to stay in Germany. This was more difficult than I had thought, yet I can say that I have been able to adapt to the culture and really enjoy it here. I have two daughters, one 19 and my second is 12.
We live in the Eifel region, near the Luxembourg and Belgium boarders being only 45 minutes away. For those of you who use Google Earth, check out the town, ok village of Ulmen, in Germany
I work for a Germany company, who sell software solutions for the cinema industry. I am their International Sales Rep. and this of course means I travel throughout the european community and the world. The list of count...Expand for more
ires and cities are endless, so I will not even start.
After the death of most of my family members, I had decided that the most important to me, was MY family. My wife is German and we have been married for 19 years.
I travel to the States, once in a while, yet have no real urge to move back. I suppose it is more so because my life and family is now here, sad I know, yet I am very happy.
I do have the urge to bring back my youth as this was also a very good time for me. The only real disadvantage to this is that I must then realize how old I really am.
For those of you who wished me a great future in my Yearbook, thank you because, it worked. Who would have thought?????
I believe that if you think you have it bad, just take a look around and realize there are others who have it much worse and can do nothing about it. "Live each day as if it were your last and appreciate those things you have."
