Eric's Story
Born in Washington, DC, Georgetown. Moved to McLean, VA in 1959 and attended Churchill Road Elementary, Cooper Intermediate, and Langley HS (class of '72). Earned Eagle Scout in 1969 in Troop 869.
Went to University of Louisville, KY from 1972-1977 on an NROTC scholarship and earned a BS & Master of Engineering in Computer Science, minoring in Electrical Engineering. Commissioned a 2nd Lt in the USMC and served from 1977 t0 1981 and selected for Captain. Worked at IBM from 1981 to 2011 in Poughkeepsie, NY, Boca Raton, FL, and Austin, TX, as a Computer Software Engineer coding microcode, designing mainframe software (3080's, 3090's, & future systems), interfacing between hardware and software engineers, designing future OS/2 systems for the PC, and finally technical writing.
Married to Joy Pollock, retired and now living In Port Townsend, WA. Can walk to the water and can see the Cascade Mts, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic Mts from our house.
