Eric's Story
Went to Elston and later Purdue. Never really used my degree, was able to find other things I liked better. At the present a tax litigator (the kind of guy IRS hates) but took a few detours before getting there. Never would I have ever imagined meeting up with some of the people I have, nor being in both movies and tv. Let's not kid ourselves I was an extra, and the tv was local with some regional commercials. But through the connections I made I've met and talked with Kurt Russell, Jacquline Smith (had dinner with her...want to do that again), John Travolta, Johnny Wiesmuller, Arnold Swartzenager (he didn't fire me), Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, and more. I got to be a movie critic and that's where most of that came from. While he was involved in racing (after Days of Thunder) became friends with Tom Cruise (even to the point of having his cell phone number). the crowd while he was testing engines at the GM Proving Grounds out here. I missed the last reunion because I went to Tuscany. What I couldn't say at the time was I was there for the pre wedding festivities for George Clooney.
My father was a good friend of Nick Clooney who he met from doing the Miss Indiana Pagent in Michigan City. Most tragic was a short friendship with Jon Erik Hexum before the set accident that ended his life. I still have trouble dealing with that even after over 20 years. Sorry to spend so much time name dropping but to be honest that's probably the high points...the rest is routine just like anyone else. Like I said if someone had told me this would happen back in high school in a small town like Michigan City I never would have believed them. Right now my plans for retirement include dropping dead at my desk. I can't think of what I'd ever do without working...maybe that's not a good thing.
