Eric's Story
Life
After high school, I spent time learning how to be a commercial radio operator (engineer) in Virginia, after which I received a 3rd Class Permit. Moved to New York where I didn't do anything interesting until I was thrown out of my apartment building for helping to organize tenants to complain about shoddy management practices...I wasn't on a lease.
Moved to California around 1981, where I intended to move quickly from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Didn't get to SF for another 10 years. Oops. Went back to college in my 20s and learned commercial photography and graphic design. Snuck into a private university computer lab for about six months because they had these new computers called Macs, and learned how to use them until the school found out I wasn't enrolled and threw me out.

ign work. In 1992, left my last full-time job to freelance for about 15 years. Freelanced for some big agencies like Ogilvy & Mather (IBM), J. Walter Thompson (Microsoft) and Team One (Toyota). Started designing web sites. Went back to school a few years ago to learn multimedia--video editing, sound design, motion graphics, special effects. That stuff's fun! Recently (March, 2005) came back to the workforce with a new media marketing company as an art director/creative. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse...paid healthcare.
Still live in Los Angeles with a steady girlfriend and a helluva home theater system. No kids, never married, still geeky, still have a sense of humor. I regret not buying a huge drum set and joining a rock band.
School
Whew...I was such a stoner. Good thing I snapped out of it -- around 30 years later. Loved hanging out in the school radio station.
