Eric's Story
After graduating from CSU, Chico, I thought I was gong to be a CPA. However, my last year in college, I ended up working for the EDD tax office as an auditor and my career path changed. After graduating from college, I got my first real job as a tax collector for the State Board of Equalization in Redding. In 2000, I changed course and became an investigator with the State Labor Commissioner's office. In 2006, I became a hearing officer for the Labor Commissioner in Redding. year, I was presented an opportunity to run the Labor Commissioner's wage clam adjudication offices from Bakersfield north. It would mean that I would have to leave the community that we fell in love with in Redding; however, it allowed us to be closer to family. I am currently based in Sacramento and over see 11 offices for the Labor Commissioner. In February, the Labor Commissioner asked me to become Assistant Chief Labor Commissioner for implementing our Compliance Monitoring Unit.
