Eric's Story
Life
After Del Mar I attended UCSB and took advantage of the "Study Abroad" program by studying in Mexico, Spain and Indonesia.
After school I got a job working for two years in Java and Bali, Indonesia and did so till I started a small factory there recycling pallets into furniture. After 4 years of travelling back and forth between Asia and the States, I sold the furniture factory and headed back to go to grad school at UC Berkeley. I never made it back as I hooked up with my present business parter (in 1995) and formed another furniture company called The Wooden Duck. We have a factory in West Berkeley (on the 80 freeway) and warehouses and a store off the Ashby exit in Berkeley. In 2006 we opened our newest store in San Rafael. ...Expand for more
We manufacture furntiture from recycled wood for catalogues, restaurants, designers, wineries, and retail clients out of our store.
In 1999 I bought a house in Sierra County as a vacation home and later rebuilt an old commercial building (from 1867) on Main St. in Downieville that houses the local mountain bike shop and a weekend rental. It took 4 years of my "spare time" to complete the building. You can see the rental at by looking up "Downieville Loft".
In 2004 I got married in Washington DC to my wife Miko. In early 2005 our son Nicholas was born. In 2007 we welcomed our second son Zachary. We live in downtown Berkeley with our big (130 lb) Bernese Mountain dog Jack and love to walk to the hundreds of restaurants in the area.
