Life After graduating from OHS I attended the Cal State Maritime Academy in Vallejo, graduating in 1964. While at the academy training cruises took me to the South Pacific Islands, both coasts of South America, the Carribian an Central America. After graduating I married Mardene McCoy (OHS 1959). I turned down my commission in the Navy and joined the international engineering and construction company Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco. We lived in SF for a few years, where our first daughter, Cyndie, was born, but eventually moved back to Orange where we had our second daughter, Allyson, when I transferred to the LA Power Division of Bechtel. From there the company moved us to Sacramento for a couple of years and then to Spain. Mardene and I separated in 1974 after returning from Europe. I remarried the following year to a gal from NY with my step-daughter Melanie. We moved back to Spain later that year and remained there except for a brief stint back in the US in 1980, until 1985, serving variously as Mechanical Supervisor, Project Engineeering Manager and ultimately as Chief Mechanical and Nuclear Engineer. We left Bechtel in 1986 and moved to Northern Nevada, buying a small ranch in Garderville and buying a auto painting and repair business in Reno. In 1991 I rejoined Bechtel Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas, for a two yar assignment, followed by a shortened assignment in Mexico City, a year in Pheonix, AZ and finally back to San Francisco (living in Marin County). In 1996 I was asked to become the Manager of Engineering for a joint venture company in Cairo, Egypt. My wife and I separted and I moved to Egypt by myself. We were divorced a a year or so later.
