Eric's Story

OK...I just realized that my page says one of my interests is "Cats". Well..yeah..."we" have 2 cats; not MY idea. So...take that "interest" as you will.... What else? Life Lessee...hmmmm....i guess things have been pretty boring. Went to Northeast Missouri State (Kirksville; now Truman State) from 83-87. Ended up with a BS in Business Admininstration with emphasis in Data Processing and Management. Started working as a programmer in Des Moines in 1987. And I'm STILL AT THE SAME PLACE!! Just had my 20 year anniversary there back in September. Apparently its hard to get out of a rut. Or maybe I'm unemployable anywhere else. Either way...its a paycheck. Married in 1993. We also built a new house in 1993. Now if anyone remembers Des Moines in the summer of 1993...it was NOT a smooth ordeal. Ask Brenda Peel...she drove me to the hospital on the first day with a majorly shattered wrist. The detail are too gory. But I'm still here (the jury's out on whether that's a good or bad thing). Still no kids, by choice. I love kids, though. As long as I can give them back t...Expand for more
o their parents after an hour or two. LOL But in 2003 we found it necessary to move to a bigger house. By bigger, I mean more garage space. The extra square footage was just a bonus. (ask me about my 5 cars and 1 vintage travel trailer) When we moved we had our cat, Mollie. Apparently, under our new deck is a prime spot for stray cats to have kittens. And so, the Mrs. found our little Kea kitty crying in the back yard wanting to come in and join our "family". We spent a lot of time in the Jaycees - up until we aged-out at 40. I was president of the local chapter in 2000 and regional director in 2002. Oh, we're "Parrot Heads" too. Jimmy Buffett fans for those of you who don't know. I highly recommend going to a concert. But don't miss the "pre-parties" in the parking lot. (I've got beads...) Seems like we're always busy, but never really accomplish anything. Still, we are able to get to at least one Nascar Cup race each year. I guess that's pretty boring. No kids to brag on. No grandchildren (do you know what a GILF is??). No new wives (as of this time...LOL).
