Eric's Story

EDUCATION: After graduating from Fremont HS, I attended UC Davis for 4 years. I was pre-med, then pre-optometry, then changed gears and wanted to be a CPA after taking some accounting classes my junior year! I graduated from UC Davis in 1986 with a BS in Genetics (was too far along with my Genetics degree to start over and change to business). I then went to Golden Gate University in San Francisco and did graduate work in accounting for 2 years to qualify for the CPA exam. WORK: I went into public accounting from 1988-1990, passed the CPA exam, and then decided to go into private industry. I worked for Kendall-Jackson Winery in Santa Rosa for 5 years, starting out as Jess Jackson's personal accountant and ending up managing the accounting for winery operations, vineyard production, and barrel manufacturing. I eventually moved back to the Bay Area and ended up in real estate. I am presently the CFO and a partner of a property management, redevelopment and leasing firm in Palo Alto. FAMILY: I got married in 1986, had one son (Lars) in 1991, and then divorced in 1997. I remarried in 2002 to my awesome wife (Lynda), who has one son (A...Expand for more
nthony) born in 1993. The four of us presently live in San Mateo, and the boys are active in Boy Scouts. Lars earned his Eagle Scout in 2007 and I earned my Eagle Scout in 1980. HOBBIES: Heavy Metal - I have been a rabid music collector since high school and have a huge vinyl (remember those?) and CD collection. I have been to tons of concerts since high school and have the hearing damage and tinnitus to show for it. But my ticket stub collection is awesome. My wife bought me a Gibson Flying V guitar (Michael Schenker is God) and Marshall amp for my 40th birthday, so now I'm a new guitarist, trailing behind my friends who have 25 years of experience on me. My wife is a tribute band promoter for local Bay Area clubs and bands, and we've come to know a lot of very talented and cool musicians. Camaros - I had a beaten-up 1969 Z28 in the 1990's, but I soon rolled and totaled that heap. For my 40th birthday, I bought myself a fully-restored 1969 SS/RS Z10 hard-top pace car (454 with a 4-speed). Totally cherry and a blast to drive. I enjoy taking it on rallies and to car shows. Not anymore - I sold my Mistress of Evil a few years ago. :(
