Erik's Story
After a year at LBCC, Erik hopped in his old Mercury and traveled to the northwest where he lived in Spokane and Portland, working at department stores. Then, spontaneously,he took a year to study at the Pasadena Playhouse. Toured with The Bishop's Company for a year ending up in New York. Back to Portland then the USMC. In 1968 he met a charmer who had just finished working on the Star Trek series at Paramount. We were wed in Irwin Allen's backyard that same year.
Erik acted in Land of the Giants, Poseidon Adventure and Towering Inferno and several lesser movies and TV shows but did not make enough money to take care of his family, wife, her son,two cats, one dog and several fish, so he took a friend up on an offer to be a Property Master (not real estate) on a low budget vampire picture. th the intentions of travels abroad with Elizabeth, his wife. She passed away before that could happen.
Erik traveled by car visiting Presidential Libraries and such like, then got reacquainted with Lynn whom he had met in 1968, too. It was a very good year. We married and he brought her out from East Texas to live in Tarzana. that's where we live now. During the first marriage he traveled abroad and domestically. With Lynn he was content to travel mostly by car around the USA and Canada with a few cruises thrown in. No more theatre or film work. He served as an elected official for IATSE local 44 for almost 40 years. No children of his own even if he thinks of them as his,, but great step kids from both marriages and grandkids from the second one.
After a fairly healthy 70 plus years a cancer of the blood caught up with him a year or so ago that has slowed him down.
