Erma's Story
Hi, everyone!
I just joined Classmates again so I'll try to keep things up to date.
After graduating from Courter in 1966, I worked in the Cincinnati area for a year, then moved to Lawrence, Mass for about a year. After returning to the Cincy area I stayed for a few years, but my wander lust got the better of me and off I went to Los Angeles, CA.
During my "California Dreaming" phase, I spent 10 years as Assistant to the Finance Director for the City of Beverly Hills. It was an interesting time, as Beverly Hills is a unique part of the world. During my years with the City, I met and married a stuntman, Ron Ellis, whom I met while he was working on the movie "Beverly Hills Cop" outside my office window at the front entrance of City Hall.
Unfortunately, my husband passed away in an accident and I began to seriously consider the possibility of "going home". I returned to Cincinnati where many of my family live.
I began to work in the aviation industry with a year at GE as a contract Admin. Asst., then to an airport planning consultation group as Asst. to the Chairman.. From there, I moved to a small interna...Expand for more
tional airline, based at Cincinnati/N. KY airport. My last place of employment was for NetJets, based in Columbus, but the service department was based at Lunken Airport. I spent 15 years there, retiring at the end of 2016.
Now, I live quietly in Dry Ridge, KY. I have no children, just my dog, Holly, who is the light of my life. With every penny I can rake, scrape, beg, borrow or steal (not really), I travel. I've visited several countries in the Caribbean, and all 50 US states except Oregon and Minnesota, as well as Canada and Mexico. I recently flew up to Fairbanks, AK for a week to search for the Northern Lights. Mission accomplished!
I'd like to hear from anyone I knew at Courter Tech. I'm not so good with names, but I rarely forget a face. Looking forward to hearing from everyone! In particular, I'd like to reconnect with an old friend, Shirley ?. Unfortunately, I've forgotten her last name. Also, I particularly remember John Meyer, but for some reason, his picture and name didn't make it into the yearbook. Does anyone out there remember these two students? Can you point me in the right direction?
