Ernesto's Story
College
Right after high school I went to Sac City for two years and got my AS in Social Sciences. Since then I've been in the military, so I've been taking classes here-and-there, off-and-on until today and am trying to get accepted to a military funded program to finish my BS in Nursing. I'm not going to give up though. I'm looking at the Nursing program at Sac State for my first choice.
Workplace
I initially joined the Air Force Reserves for three years, so I still worked Data Entry Operator for whatever jobs I could hold down. Afterwards, I went Active Duty as a Medic and worked at the ER for four years at Travis, and have almost completed one year at the ICU since being transferred duty sections. I'm wan...Expand for more

Military
I'm having lots of fun being in the military. While in the AF Reserves I got to travel around a little for annual tours. I got to see South Korea, Japan, Hawaii and some US states. While in Active Duty I've lucky enough to have been stationed at David Grant Medical Center in Travis AFB the entire time. It gave me a chance to not have to move around as Quita and I had our young children and bought our house. I have been deployed to the Middle East in 2003 and was an experience. I am looking to move to another base in the next couple of years and hope to get stationed somewhere like Louisiana, Washington or Alaska. I'll definitely make a career out of this.
