Esther's Story
Life
After graduating from Sevier High in 1969, I attended Natchez Junior College (NJC) in Natchez, MS. I graduated in 1971 and immediately began working at the college. While continuing my employment at NJC, I attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College to earn needed business core courses and then enrolled in the University of Southern Mississippi-Natchez. I received my Bachelors in Business Administration in 1976 and earned additional post graduate hours.
I continued to work at NJC until the Spring of 1988. I applied for and began work for the State of Louisiana as a Compliance Examiner. Basically, we audit state chartered financial institutions for compliance to state and federal laws; as well as safety and soundness of the financial strength of the institution. rk with our federal counterparts, the FDIC. Its an interesting job and I enjoy the diversity. I hope to retire in 3 to 4 years.
After moving to Alexandria, LA in 1988 to take this job, I met my husband Willie. We were married in May 1994 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Neither of us have children. My mother, who passed away in January 2007, lived with us for approximately 6 years...so I guess that was our baby.
I am active in my church and enjoy bargain shopping and traveling.
I, along with Connie Scott Warner and Geraldine White Brown, have been asked by the members of the Sevier class of 1969 to assist in getting together a "Special Event" for our 40th reunion. So, all you '69ers out there, and those of you who know one, get in touch. We want as many of you as possible to join us.
