Ethan's Story
I went to Hampshire College in Massachusetts, and pretty much never came back home. After college I moved to Boston for a year where I sold fire extinguishers, and fire extinguisher service.
While in Boston, I fell in love with my college classmate, Courtney (who fortunately responded in kind!) and we got married in March, 1994.
After Boston, Courtney and I spent 2 years in Indiana while I got a Master's Degree in American Studies at Purdue University.
We moved to New Hampshire for 4 years after that. I briefly worked in a valve factory before getting a job in education: working at a boarding school (St. Paul's...Expand for more
School) helping teachers use technology in their curricula. Courtney was the Director of Health and Safety at the American Red Cross in Concord.
Then we moved back to Mass., where I did a similar job teaching at Groton School, and Courtney pursued a degree in school librarianship.
In 2003, we moved to PA (near Wilkes-Barre) where Courtney is the librarian (and I am a history teacher, baseball coach and college counselor) at Wyoming Seminary (another boarding school). We live in the boys dorm with our cats and dog. Taking care of 80 boys definitely makes us not interested in kids of our own, at least at this time!
