Ethel's Story
Life
I now live in Nipomo California, Central Coast. We moved here just 1 year ago. My husband Bill and I have been married 60 years (this past June). We have 4 children, 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. We have been retired for 20 years and have enjoyed every day of it. We live on the Monarch Dunes Golf Course, I don't golf but Bill does and enjoys it very much. I am still a dancer and just finished a 4 Performance show "The Follies" here at the Clark Theater. It is a very profesional show and we raised $45,000 for Parkinsons. We live in a Trilogy Community with all the amenities. Clubhouse, restaurant,
wine room, library exercise facilities etc. etc. etc. We sized down from a 3,400 sq ft house to about 2,100 but it is perfect. The weather here is ideal and we have our youngest daughter within 3 miles.
We are going to Egypt this month and will stop for 4 days on our return in New York and try for the TODAY show. This will be country 86 that we have ...Expand for more
visited and hopefully will do many more.
We moved to California in 1956 as my husband was hired by Hughes Aircraft. He had been an employee of A.V. Roe and ironically left a couple of years befor the big layoff. He went to work for Servomechanisms and then then to TRW for 25 years which was an excellent career. He never looked back after retiring at 60. We are both very active, I volunteer for the hospital auxilliary and attend many exercise classes. We have made a multitude of friends here at Trilogy and couldn't be in a better place. We love California but we do get back to Canada some years, as a matter of fact I was back this past summer. I would like to hear from anyone that recognizes my name or attended Vaughan from 1941 1945. Adding to my story April 19, 2010, my husband Bill passed away August 25, 2009 with Lung Cancer, I am lost without him but "Life Goes On" and I am keeping very busy and my children are very supportive. I would love to hear from some of you.
