Ethel's Story
I don't really know where to start. So much has happened in the last (how long has it been anyway).
I'm very happily married to my wonderful husband, Tom. He's the best husband a woman could have and God blessed my life with him. I have two sons, and I have 5 stepchildren. We have 5 grandchildren.
After high school, I went on to San Jac. I had a great bunch of friends at the BSU. We had a girl's flag football team and we played the other groups at the college. Those were the days. Before marriage, before kids. I'm not saying they're bad things, I just liked the no responsibility feeling we had back then. We didn't really realize how great it was. Anyway, my ex-husband saw me playing football and in a few months we were married. I spent the summer before working at Glorieta in New Mexico. It was a great summer.
I was married for 8 years to a guy from Sam Rayburn High School. That's when I had my two wonderful boys. The next few years were very hard, but we got through them. My big break came when I went back to San Jac and took two years of Chemistry. That's wha...Expand for more
t got me into working at Lubrizol. Then I went on to work at Quantum Chemical. I worked in the Lab and I loved it. The only thing I didn't like were the 12 hour days and nights. Shift work. I worked there from 1991 to 1999. Then my husband, Tom, who I had married in 1997, said it would be okay if I wanted to quit. Well, he didn't have to tell me twice. So I quit and now I'm a very happy housewife who loves photography, quilting, scrapbooking, etc.
I had a period of time when I had to deal with having breast cancer. They caught it early, so all you women out there---Get your mammogram. All I had to do was get the thing cut out and then 25 days of radiation---which is a lot better than chemo. So I didn't have to go through the chemo thing. That was in 2001.
So now at present, Tom and I travel quite a bit. He is so ready to get out of here. We have a vacation home in New Mexico and try to get there several times a year. It will be a while before he can retire, so here we are.
There are so many more things I could put here, but I think this may be too long already.
