Lee's Story

Lee is living in the mountains near Woodland Park, Colorado after retiring from Garmin in Salem, Oregon in 2015. Lee's schools include Lafayette High School, Will Rogers High School. Lee later attended Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Mathematics). He first worked at the US Naval Air Development Center in Johnsville, PA where John Glenn and the first astronauts trained. Then joined the USAF where his assignments included NORAD communcations officer at Detroit Air Defense Sector and detachment commander in Gorramendi, Spain. s in the oil and gas industry as a petrophysicist. On his last job in the energy industry at ARCO's research center in Plano, TX he also helped the Texas water board developing their published procedures for estimating water quality from well log data. Also, he worked at Harmon Industries & Wilcox Electric Co. in K.C., and UPS AT (later acquired by Garmin) where he retired at age 78. Music Lee likes includes Karen Carpenter, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Pat Boone, and Elvis Pressly. Movies Lee likes include Quigley Down Under. Just caught this lightning on my cell phone camera this evening about an  hour ago.
Added this foto from Wanda Hodge, a nurse that lived in an apartment adjacent to ours at 801 Hall St., St. Joseph, MO in what is now a National Historic District . I lived there in the late '40s to early ' 50s.
