Eugene's Story
Life
I have been retired since 2003 and enjoying every minute of it. My wife Pat is still teaching in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg, NC school system and is looking forward to her retirement next year.
We are thoroughly enjoying our first grandchild Jacob (I have him every day during the school year), while during Pat's summers away from school, I'm allowed to spend as much time on the golf course as possible.
Once Jacob is old enough to attend school and with Pat retiring, perhaps we'll return to our wondering ways and resume our traveling.
What little time I have left is spent on my other hobbie, running my model train empire. Just can't seem to get away from trains after all those years catching them in Hammond. Anybody remember Dildines Hobby Shop on Calumet Avenue across the street from the Red Rooster?

ou may have guessed, we live in Charlotte, NC by way of Elkhart, IN and Chicago courtesy of a former employer. The weather is great meaning we can be in the mountains within a couple of hours to see snow in the winter or about 3 hours to walk on the beach, all on the same weekend.
So.....if you are ever in the Charlotte area, call and say hello.
Since the above information was posted, we have a new addition to our family. Lily was born in March of this year. Needless to say, both are our pride joy.
Jacob will be in kindergarden at Pat's school so her retirement has been postponed until June of 2009 and I'll have Lily everyday as soon as my daughter goes back to work.
As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I still golf as much as possible and still collecting and playing trains.
