Eula's Story
Received B.A. from Baylor Univ., Waco, TX. in 1956. Married in 1954 between soph. and Jr.years. Had three children, two daughters and a son. Moved to Columbus, OH in 1965. Began teaching and attending Ohio State University (Yea, Buckeyes) where I completed a M. A. in Reading Education. Taught in the Columbus, innercity schools for 30 years after one year teaching 2nd grade in Etna, OH. Taught 2nd grade for 10 years, fourth grade for 4 years then went into the Middle/Jr. Highs as a reading specialist for the last 18 years. After 17 years was divorced. Remarried to Owen Coleman in 1980 until his death in 2002. Moved to a condo when retired in 1996, spent winters in Tampa Bay area in Florida in our winter home until Owen's final illness. spent the growing seasons landscaping the north property line as gardening is my passion and my physical fitness program along with Curves and some walking. Do lots of scrapbooking for family. Very active in my United Methodist Church, condo card club and condo activities committee and lunch bunch. Oldest daughter corporate attorney in Detroit, honored in the U.S. Supreme Court Building in D.C. when inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy. We had dinner in the Library of Congress following. Son has been a Senior VP in Fort Dodge Pharmaceuticals in Overland Park, Kansas for many years. Youngest daughter is talented upholsterer and landscaper among other things. Four wonderful, but grown-up grandchildren, three grandsons, one granddaughter. Having a wonderful time in retirement!! Life is good!!!!!
