Evelyn's Story
Life
Most important to me .. my 2 children, now grown and my 3 teenage grandchildren. I live in Etobicoke near my daughter and her family, though not with her father since 1983. My first profession was nursing, then I became very interested in computer related technology and went back to school to DeVry. Since 1995 I have worked in that sector and since 1998 worked from home for a software developer. Life has been and continues to have more positives than negatives. I retired from full-time work in 2010 and completely in 2013.
I have travelled a lot and as a result thank God every day for this country of ours. I am increasingly thankful for my work and being able to be self supporting. So many women of the world are in virtual slavery.
I am grateful for the love and loyalty of my children and grandchildren and for my health (after surviving a nasty bout of cancer). This life is better and freer than most in the world have. Makes me give back when I can.

pointments. As a result I no longer communicate with my family of origin.
My service work includes work at my church. I am enjoying life as part of the Zoomer generation. My golf is improving and I love the "walk in the park" this sport allows. My sorrow is having to give up tennis due to knee problems.
My children are thriving as are my grandchildren. I feel truly blessed as life could have turned out so much differently.
I lost my beloved husband to cancer in December of 2022. We shared life together for over 18 years. We complemented each other temperamentally, my A+ to his B-.and shared a life we both thoroughly enjoyed.
I miss my gentle, kind, best friend with all my heart and just hope I can be as good a person to others as he was to friends, family, community and me.
Happy to hear from any school mates who wish to connect for themselves or just to update on others. I have lost track of everyone and as life gives me some spare moments would love to chat/email/whatever with previous school mates.
Cheers,
Ev
