Hello folks. Ewell M.(Butch) Owen. GHS Class of 60. I joined the US Army 2 weeks after graduation and stayed in. Retired (while serving in Turkey) on 1 Jan 1989. Uncle Sam was good to me and I was good to Uncle Sam. I entered as a young dumb Private with a fair high school education and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, Military Police Corps, with a Graduate Degree. Spent half of my adult life overseas and am now enjoying life in the USA. After Army retirement I worked a Government contract in Turkey for 5 years then took off a year to travel Europe and Mid East. Opened my company in Turkey in 1995 - export and consulting to foreign companies .. then opened an Agricultural Non-Gov Organization in 1996, then a second company in Maryland in 1999. I sold my Turkish company in 2007 and sold my MD company on 1 October 2009. I spent a total of 26 + years in Turkey .. 19 + the last trip. Married a Russian math teacher; Tatiana, and we have a son (Alexander) who will turn 7 in March 2013. We had a good life in Turkey and stayed till May 2007 .. then moved to Paris, TN. We like the Paris area .. Kentucky and Barkley Lakes, Land Between the Lakes, etc. Out in the county .. have 2.5 acres, fruit trees & flowers and a large organic gard...Expand for more
