Fay's Story
School
High school was ok. I was too shy to enjoy it much. I wish I had had the confidence then that I have now. I would of been involved in so much more.(maybe I could've gotten a date with some of those guys I admired!) I would love to have run hurdles in track instead of being the manager. My favorite teacher was Mr. Stairs, my typing teacher. I sat right up near his desk and he'd throw paper clips at me to try and get me to mess up. It only made me try harder to do my best work. High school is where I met my best friend and she made life worth living. I regret that we've lost contact. So, yeah, high school for me was just ok. I had some good friends, but a lot of "I wish I hads."
Workplace
When I moved to Colorado, I worked as a secretary in a country club(temporary work). I then worked i...Expand for more
n an Orange Julius until I married. I didn't work outside of the home until 2 yrs. ago, where I did in home care of an elderly woman. I am now back to my most favorite job of taking care of my family.
Military
I did not serve in the military, but I married an officer in the army. We traveled from Colorado, to Ft. Irwin, California to Aberdeen, Maryland to Weisbaden, Germany where they had a reduction in forces and we were honorably discharged. We have settled in Nebraska where my husband grew up. With my husband in the military and gone alot, I had to learn to do many things for myself, this gave me confidence I had lacked and the courage to try new and different things. I am greatful for the time we spent in the military and will always be greatful for those who serve to protect our country now.
