Faye's Story

After graduating from Williston in 1967 I ventured to the Big City of Bright Lights (NY) in order to seek my good fortunes! I've lived here in Brooklyn since then. That quest has rewarded me with a great education, profession, a brief marriage and the love of my life-- my first born and only child, my son, CHEF-La. ( Which is his nick name--as he is a Chef by profession. ) Every Friday and Saturday during the months of April through November you can find him in the parking lot at the Euclid Avenue "A" Train Station frying fish and shrimp, and serving shrimp burgers, ala Nar-Carn Grill style along with steamed crabs and yummy sides. I've always had a sense of community and serving which resulted in my successful and twenty year career with the NYC Board of Education. Beginning as a Clerk and rising up the ranks to Business Manager to the Chancellor of the NYC Schools, Personnel Director for the Division of School Safety and finally as a School District Administrator. After an early retirement (I had the years of service but not the age-Thank you very much!!!) and a semester as a NYC Public School Teacher, WHEW!!! I still continue on my journey in seeking my fortune by living my dream!!! I have a passion for antiques , estate jewelry both fine and costume and vintage clothing from all eras; especially the sixties and seventies. I am presently looking to acquire a large warehouse in order to host auctions and to house and to sell my goods along with acqu...Expand for more
iring a second box truck so that I can transport my collections and do more. Currently I sell at one of NY's premier and the largest of Antique Shows. Twice yearly you can find me at theLiberty Antique's Festival in Liberty, NC and at the opening Brimfield Antique Shows in MA. On any given Saturday you will find my 88 year old Mother selling her Brown Dogs, Cookies, Cakes and Pies at the Starway Flea Market on Carolina Beach Road. Stop by and say hello and taste her treats! YuM!! I am also student of the Holy Writ and I love the things of the Lord Jesus, The Christ. I am constantly studying different genre's in order to show myself approved in His service to His People. It is with this love for Him and my heart's affection that I write a weekly e-message on living life to the fullest that is titled: THE WEEKLY WEDNESDAY. I also host a monthly book club and and prayer gathering. For the month of February 2011 we are reading the book: IT WORKS by RHJ .. If you are interested in receiving The Weekly Wednesday e-message then please send me an email .. THE WILMINGTON GATHERING OF FRIENDS IN NY has been on my heart for many years. It should not be confused with the previous Wilmingtonian Ball Dance that was held every March. I hope that you can make the sacrifice and join us.. It promises to be an enjoyable time... There is sooo much more for me to say--and I''ll say it in my book. Stay tuned. Peace and Blessings and Good Health and Prosperity and Money!!
