Fayrine's Story
In 1977 I moved to Tucumcari, NM with my twin sister Kayline Garner and Mom. I Attended ENMU receiving a Secretarial/Office Occupation certification in 1978. Moved to Lakewood, Co in 1978 and worked at Cobe Laboratories assembling Oxygenators for open heart surgery and kidney dialysis machines. Observed my 1st open heart surgery in the testing trial phase of the Oxygenator machine. What an awesome experience, no room for error. I got married in 1981 to John Benavidez whom I met while attending ENMU. We have a daughter Shelly born in 1983. My 3 grandkids are my pride and joy. I love spending time cheering them on at their track meets and sports events.

1984 - 1994 I worked at the VA in Amarillo, TX. as a Health Benefits Advisor (Administrative Office). Relocated to Tucumcari, NM in 1995 to be near our aging parents. I have fond memories of the horse races. "Dusk Patrol" NM breed thoroughbred competed at Albuquerque Downs, La Mesa Park - Raton NM, Ruidoso Downs, Santa Fe Downs, and Sundland Park race tracks. "Dusk Patrol's" career spans from 1987 - 1997. Won Horse of the year twice during this time. Attended Mesaland Community College majoring in Social Work from 1999 - 2001. In 2002, John and I went our separate ways and I relocated back to Amarillo, Tx where I've been ever since. Life's good, no regrets.
