Michael's Story

I left Niles for the Army in 1986, then back to Niles for a few years, then to Houston, TX in about 1994, and then to Oviedo, FL (Near Orlando) in about 1998. While in Houston I learned a trade that was one of the motivating factors to moving to Florida (better job offer) and my family had recently moved to FL. I am now a Mechanical Design Engineer working in primarily stainless steel. I finally met the woman of my dreams and we got married on 05-01-05, one of the best days in my life! after getting married we found out on 11-15-06, that I had advanced stage IV colorectal cancer, and was given just a few months to live. Well that was some time ago and depending on who you listen to I am beating odds ranging from 1/10th% to 2% for survival<>DRIVE-ON! We always hope for the best and try to maintain a good outlook-------------no depression! There is no way I could do it without my wonderful and lovng wife! She is my rock> I hope the best for everybody still in Niles, and for those who've managed to esscape!
