Life
I joined the ranks of the retired on June 1, 2007. It is the best job I NEVER had. I live in Omaha, NE and have been here since 1989. It wasn't my first choice as far as places to live, but the people in the midwest are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I worked for Union Pacific Railroad for almost 38 years.

Jose, CA. We spent about a year there before moving to Sacramento, CA. We bought our first house in Sacramento and were there just long enough to start improvements and then off to Stockton, CA. After 3 years in Stockton, we moved to Gresham, OR and that is where I planned on retiring. However, Union Pacific had different ideas and in 1989 we ended up in Omaha. I doubt if we move again. I do miss the Pacific Northwest, but I still get back home at least every other year.
