Foster's Story
Just want to say hi!
I live in the Walnut Creek area of the east bay now with my wife Judi. We have one grandchild (17). I retired from Kaiser Permanente in Dec-2016, having worked as a property manager/facility services manager for 30 + different Kaiser non medical buildings in the east bay over the years. The work involved managing budgets and building operations, repair and maintenance and construction projects. I really enjoyed it but am happily retired now and do not miss the commute.
I spend time now working out at the gym and walking, and working with yard and home projects. I like living in the east bay but when it gets over 100 degrees sometimes miss the SSF fog. But we are able to grow many types of Mediterranean herbs, vegis and fruits. A parti...Expand for more
al list includes Italian and French basil and garlic, wild Greek oregano, sage, rosemary, kale, tomatoes, figs, blueberries, Italian lemon, brocallini, eggplant, dill, pomegranite, and squash. This year the Italian lemon has gotten big enough to make lots of fruit and I am going to try making some limoncello. soon. We mainly eat a Mediterranean diet. Judi cooks dishes from Italy, Greece, Morocco, North Africa, and Middle Eastern food, With our garden she is able to pick the vine ripened fresh herbs and produce when needed. She has lived and worked in some of these countries and we have visited them on vacations as well, and we adopted the diet because the food is so good.
