Fran's Story
Life
I have been living in Flagstaff most of my life with the exception of three years in southern california and 3 years in Casa Grande. My husband Johnny and I raised two children in Flagstaff. We now have 4 grandchildren and to our happiness they all live in Flagstaff. We have recently purchased a place on the river in Camp Verde and will probably be retiring there in 4 to 5 years. I worked at Flagstaff Medical Center for 10 years and W.L. Gore for 16 years. Needig a change from the corporate world I quit Gore in l999. Did some traveling for a couple of years. Currently I am working in the financial planning industry with Babb & Vora Financial. I started parttime with the intention to stay parttime but of course that did not happen. stay pretty busy with our property in Camp Verde, we have a fantastic garden every year and I love to spend my time down there reading and playing in the dirt. We also have canoes and do river trips on the verde often. My grandchildren take up a good part of my time when I am in Flagstaff. They are all in sports, volleyball, soccer, baseball, and basketball, so of course we have to be there to support the team. I am involved with the reading literacy program and serve on the advisement council at our church. Some weeks there just does not seem to be enough time. Of course the years have flown by and as we get older they seem to fly by faster. I live everyday to the fullest and when I meet old friends it is always great to talk and share our life experiences. It's always great to see old friends and remember the good old days.
