Frances's Story
AA degree Chaffey College, Calif.
(1) Worked in Calif Chemical Lab, testing copper & brass. Provided affidavits of material.
(2) Worked at General Dynamics on various missile programs -Tomahawk cruise missile, SPARROW heat-seeking missile project, REDEYE, PHALANX rapid firing gun, & others as a Cost Analyst for the Mfg.Dept.
(3) Moved to N. Calif. Worked as Manager over 5 Depts with 5 Supvrs, 300 employees with the State Franchise Tax Board. Responsible for daily deposits of $75-125 million/day. At same time, had a small ranch raising purebred Chianina cattle.
(4) Promoted to Staff Analyst to the State Director of Special Schools, Sacramento Hdqrs. Traveled to the various special schools in the State. (5 ) Left my vested retirement & moved to Tennessee. Worked for National Geographic until they moved outside of D.C.
(6) Took numerous written tests, background, FBI checks, etc to work as nuclear specialist in Nuclear Plants in radiological areas. On-call union contractor working various nuclear plants across the U.S.
Am now retired from (1) General Dynamics, (2) State of California, (3) Nuclear Radiation Technicians Union, and (4) Social Security.
Live in Tennessee on 50 acres near Shiloh Military Park and Tennessee River. Been a great life with opportunities to travel with my work besides working with a ton of good people through the years. Opportunities to see all 50 states, Mexico, & Canada. Stay at every National Forest in the West. My secondary interest has been genealogy research. Have husband, one son, one granddaughter, two great granddaughters.
