Frances's Story
Life
I married Norm Harvey from the class of '55 just as he joined the AF. He became an Officer, and we began to travel. We lived 3 years in Germany, and at several AF bases around the USA. He was Commander of EOD (Explosives) otherwise known as the Bomb Sqdn, (Storage, transport, loading onto planes, disarming), and was on the Inspector General's team for Nuclear Safety.
After he retired, we went to Iran for two years, where he was an advisor to the Shah's Imperial Iranian AF. It was the best time I've ever experienced. From there we toured Russia, Spain, Israel, and other countries, very inexpensively. We were evacuated out just before the hostages were taken.
He then went to work on the Space Shuttle, for Ford Aerospace, at Vandenberg AFB, as a Safety Engineer. When that project ended, he was sent to Ford's head offi...Expand for more
ce in San Jose, for 15 years. After early retirement from Ford, he's spent 3 years renovating our former home in the Merced area, an hour N. of Fresno. We're on an acre -- half almond orchard.
We've been camping in it during progress, (patio chairs, etc.), while I still travel between our San Jose house to keep it cared for. We're almost ready to make the full move, and sell the other house. Just a few things left to do first. He drove race cars for a while, is an avid fan, and I've been caught up in all of his activities.
I now look forward to being settled in the country. My own interests are writing, interacting with friends, and helping people, through our church support programs. Our three daughters are all married and scattered, two in the mid west, and one in S. Ca. and we have 8 Grandchildren. That about sums it up.
