Frances's Story
I've been married for 53 years now to a wonderful man from Bisbee, cousin to Ernie Lopez, Tony. We have 5 kids, 15 grandchildren. 33 great-grandchildren. and 1 great great granddaughter. I worked 18 years as a Human Resources Director at medical clinic.then I decided I needed to slow down to a less stressful job, after all I am no spring chicken. I worked for an insurance broker as a customer service/assistant to 3 agents for a couple of years and then went to work for my lawyer/friend as a legal assistant. After three years with Rodriguez & Associates, i retired early due to medical problems. Tony retired October 1, 2006 just in time for my first pancreatic/liver cancer surgery. At this point, we had decided to move back to Arizona.
On December 2006 I had major surgery in Seattle, and though they got it all, I have to have tests every six months. In 2014 my cancer returned in the pancreas and I had surgery again to remove the small tumors. I have learned to trust my life to...Expand for more
my surgeon in Seattle and because of this we chose to remain here in the Northwest and because three of our kids live here plus grandchildren and great grandchildren. We have come to appreciate the things around us like the beautiful rivers and all the green yards and trees.. We also have the four seasons. Don't much care for the freezing temperatures and the snow though. The big Columbia River runs through here and separates our town from Pasco, We also have the Yakima and the Snake Rivers very close by. Jim Daniels lives here too.
My brother, Oscar, still lives in Tucson as do Tony's cousins, so we go in September for a month and then visit relatives in Bisbee, Sierra Vista, Thatcher, Phoenix and of course, Tucson. It is usually a fun trip and I love going to Bisbee. Many times I wished we lived closer but the pros and cons for staying here were definitely on the pro side. Hopefully next time there is a Class Reunion, we will be able to attend.
Sincerely,
Frances Peru Lopez
