Frances's Story
I retired from Dow Chemical in 1995 after 28 years of service. I traveled, Italy twice, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, took cruises to Alaska twice, Panama Canal, St. Martens, and traveled to parts of the U.S.
I am now a widow for the second time. I met Jim on my travels to San Francisco in 1997. I went to buy a Thomas Kincade painting and he followed in 3 weeks. We met, married, and I moved to California within 90 days and that was 14 years ago. It truly was love at first sight. We had two weddings. One in Reno, NV and one in TX so my pastor and grandsons could be in the wedding. My pastor wrote some special vows for us and I fooled around and didn't get a copy of them. The love of my life died April 15, 2011 from Stage 4 lung cancer at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. He only lived 5 weeks after diagnosis and he had not smoked in 37 years. I have moved to another state to live near my daughter. I think moving to a new location has helped me because there are no memories here. I am enjoying my new home and my little 5 lb. 6 oz. Pomeranian, Ariel. I rescued her from the SPCA in TX. She is a doll and makes me laugh with her cute little...Expand for more
antics.
I have a son and daughter who are 50 and 47 and my daughter has two sons, 21 and 19.
My favorite ways to relax are working on the computer, reading, going to movies, and playing with my pet.
My grandmother and mother were my heroes and my inspiration. My mother is 88 and has survived cancer twice, a stroke, broken ankle, a bad fall, and a deep brain bleed. All these things and has no disabilities whatsoever. Mother is a very strong woman and always there for you.
I have lived in Pasadena, Highlands, Freeport, Lake Jackson, West Columbia, Angleton, and Carmel Valley, CA.
Ariel, Pomeranian, 5 lbs., SPCA rescue dog that was severely abused by previous owner. She had teeth knocked out and numerous severe burns from her neck to the base of her tail. She is doing very well now and has gone from a frightened little dog to a confident little bundle of fur.
My life did not turn out like I expected but I have learned from each experience. I trust God and know that He is in control and I will be fine. I enjoy being 69 and still feeling like that young girl in my mind. I hope to be as beautiful and strong as my mother when I turn 88. She is my hero.
