Frances's Story

I left home and relocated to Alexandria, VA in August of 1965 and got a job with Sears working in the customer service department for a year. I married in 1966 and in 1968 got a job working with the Division of Motor Vehicles in downtown Alexandria. I quit my job with the DMV to have my wonderful daughter in March 1969. ave landed a job there in February 1970, For the past 20 years, I have enjoyed working as a paralegal with the Office of Petitions within the Patent and Trademark Office. After 38 years of government service, my husband and I decided to retire from the Patent and Trademark Office. We now have more time to enjoy going to the local gun ranges and shooting our black powder and 22 rifles and participating in shooting matches in Montpelier, VA and Manassas VA. I must say that I have really enjoyed not having to go to school or work every day.
