Francis's Story

In 1966 I was about to enlist in the Army, when a 1965 class member was killed in Viet Nam. I had no idea of Canada and it was too late to consider college, so I enlisted in the Air Force and spent the next 4 years fixing camerasand working base security in Thailand. I use my GI Bill and ROTC To get commissioned back in the Air Force as a Meteorologist. I spent 4 years in Germany, where my wife and I had our two boys. Because we spoke German, we lived off base where we started an International Folkdance Club at the University of Kaiserslautern. The rest of my USAF Career was spent stateside, mostly in Omaha. overnment took it all for the "Flood from the East" We moved to Boulder where I did weather model development for 10 years until funding was cut. Then worked for the Bus company for 13 years until I retired July 2015. I've been working part time for the bus company and seasonally as a high school umpire and referee (Baseball, Basketball and Soccer). We try to dance twice a week,(Salsa and Israeli Dance) and hike once a week. We have just begun to travel with a small RV. I've begun to learn French for a planned vacation. My wife is amazed I can start to learn a new language at 68, but over the last 50 years I've studied several different languages German, Thai, Korean, Spanish, Russia, Hebrew, and now French Drop me a line and let me know wha's up with you all.
