Have no idea what I did in high school and thankfully my kids took after their mom. Military from 1967-70, Denver from 1970-1978 (Bill M stayed w/ us for a while and ate Xmas dinner 1977 w/Susan, Gena, me and Susan's family). Degree in accounting and history (I know, hard to believe) and 33 1/2 yrs w/federal government--CSRS is best retirement system in world. Spent 3.5 years as reemployed annuitant w/ govt after 9/11 helping to stand-up TSA. Great job-everyone had to pull duty about every five weeks and attempt to smuggle guns and other stuff thru the security checkpoints at Cat X/metro airports. Last 3 years w/ a CPA firm but got tired of the partners and back working for the District (DC) government. As I tell people, if someone wants to pay me, I'm OK w/ that. Retire? I spent a four-day week-end at home recently and Susan could not wait to kick my arse out the door the morning of the 5th day. Guys like me need to get out of the house. Susan is a drug counselor for Fairfax County and chomping at the bit to retire, but needs one more year. Kids both graduated from James Madison University. Paul (29) works for the federal government and lives in Arlington, VA w/ his wife Amy. Three of his h.s. buddies live in the same condo complex. Paul and Amy married at our parish here in northern Va last year on Thanksgiving Saturday; they re-married in Greece this past summer for the benefit of Amy's extended family who live in Rhodes, Gre...Expand for more
