Frank's Story

Life has been good so far. While at LSU, I met a smart, good-looking gal from Greenwell Springs (Jan) and we married after graduation in 1984. I started a gourmet food business while in school and it was my ticket to make some money, see the world and eat very well. I sold the business in 1989 and joined an investment banking firm, where I performed turnarounds and M&A work. When we acquired a shipbuilding operation in Texas in 1993, I moved to Houston to grow the company, and by the late 90's, it had become the 4th largest commercial shipyard repair company in the nation. In the meantime, we had our ...Expand for more
daughter (Amanda) in '93, and Jan became a software developer for Shell Oil. I decided to exit the shipyard operation in 1999, and eventually we moved to The Woodlands (north of Houston), where in 2005 I pursued my dream of writing-producing a motion picture (a "bucket list" item). It was quite a learning curve to move from shipyards to moviemaking, but the feature film -- The Bracelet of Bordeaux -- was a critical success on the festival circuit and was released internationally in 2009. I'm also happy to say that I'm a dad again (unexpectedly) -- Paul is his name -- born the day after Christmas, 2006.
