Frank's Story

As a fellow classmate i was not the most popular member of the class. In fact quite the other way. High School for me was not the best years of my life. I was from a neighboring area and Lakewood High School was where i wound up. I was a farm boy from Jackson, not very edept at city life or social norms of life in a city. So i was out of place. Was a big person but not good in sports so i did not fit in with the jocks and their support crew the cheerleaders. Some of the prettiest girls in the school. Was not into academic and class or bome work so did notvfit with the honor students that loved the academic challenge. Not much of a socializer as not able to think fast enough to start or keep a conversation going. Just did not have the background knowkede of one who read a lot and had experienced the world through the written word. Yes, looking back i was a rather sad specimen of teen age boy. I was blessed with a passion for music and was in the school band abd chorus all through high school. Even took several of the music courses at school. Was accepted to Trenton State College as a music major. Too bad i was not willing to listen to out music directer who tried to tell me that msybe i maybe i should go as a business major rather than music. Any way, At Trenton i met the girl that would start my married life. Long story short, i was asked to not return after my first year due to low grades. Shortly after that i began my career in the military three trips to South East Asia, one to Viet Nam and two to Thailand. Many trips through other parts of the world, to include Japan, Phillipines, China, a...Expand for more
nd England my twenty plus years closed my military carrer. After retiring from active duty i went back to work for the Department of Defense as a federal employee working with the Army for twenty years. For the forty years i was in the medical field as a medic and later as a Medical Technologist. Before i had completed my 10 th year in the military i had gone back to college part time and continued my academics in the area of science earned two associates degrees then decided that i wanted to persue another passion the study of psychology. I did very well and earned a BS and a MA in psychology was getting fsvorable returns in my inquires in to a PHD program in Psychology. But has a tragic experience while doing my intership that convinced me to no longer persue this beyong the masters degree.. this was just another adventure in life. I have no complaints, i may not have been popular in high school or a good student but i can say it was because of this that i turned out doing very well through out life. To you my fellow classmates i say thank you for the part you have played in my life, i may never have been a friend of yours or may never had spoken to you, for that i say i am sorry, we may have been good friends but i had a lot of learning to do. I do not have any problems with life at thst time. Just a little sadness that i did not get know you at that time. So to all who have seen this. I say be well, stay hsppy and enjoy life to the fullest. Enjoy the friendships you hsve made and the memories we all shared by being classmates of Lakewood High School Class of 1963. Peace, Love, and Joy to all.
