Frank's Story

Life Wow, where do I start. After high school, I went to Sac city college and played football for one year. During college I also joined a tahitian performing show and toured the state performing at county fairs and other venues. It was also at this time that I met my first wife who was a dancer in the show. After a year, it grew too financially difficult to participate so I joined the Army in late 1974 for the educational benefits and was stationed in Washington state. I also got married during the Christmas holidays of 74. My great vision and experience with a rifle won me the top expert trophy for my division, and a stint as a special weapons instructor. I ended my career in the Army as a drill instructor training ROTC Cadets. I also completed my college education while in the military. Moved back to Sacramento in 1977 and started a business selling electronics at a shop in Fairfield. When that proved too boring, I sold the shop and moved to the S.F. Bay area in 1980. One year later, I was divorced and running my new business as a receivables consultant to high tech start-up's. Really enjoyed the single life during this time as well as a new hobby that eventually became another business. I began breeding and exhibiting Arabian horses. I also trained horses to saddle and gave riding lessons. Business was great and life was good. I met my future wife (Jeane') in 87 and after two years of blissfully living together, we had a whoops, and my first son(Raphael) was born on nov 8, 1989. We call him the earthquake baby because he was born just after the Bay area quake of 89. I also got married for the last time on 9-9-89. Due to the need to acquire good family medical benefits, I sold my business and accepted an offer to work for a relatively new company, Cisco Systems in 91. What a wild ride that was. When I started, my employee number was in the 800 range. When I left in 2000, they were issuing numbers in the 40K range. During my time at Cisco, I studied at Dartm...Expand for more
outh college in New Hampshire, and at U.C. Berkeley. In 1992 my second son (Gabriel) was born. His birth coencided with the Berkeley Hills Fire. Another disaster baby. With our oldest from my wife's first marriage (Westly), we now had three handsome sons. But we couldn't leave well enough alone. We decided to have one more child and prayed it would be a boy. At this time, we were desperately looking for a new home as we had outgrown our house in Fremont, CA. We felt by arranging two boys to a room, everything would be great. We could pass down toys, clothing etc..During my wife's pregnancy, a scan informed us that the child was the much hoped for boy, and we happily awaited the arrival of our last son, Miguel. With the tape in my video camera proclaiming the miracle of Miguel, I set about the task of documenting his birth. Everything was going as planned when instead of Miguel, out popped Olivia. Talk about shock, my wife had just had a baby shower with all boy colors and accessories. All our plans were ruined, we now needed a bigger house, different toys, clothes, everything. I accused my wife of doing this on purpose so she could get a bigger home outta me. Oh well, the little princess grew on me from the first moment I laid eyes on her, even though she looked like a boxer who had just gone 15 rounds with Mike Tyson. Today we live in the home we bought in Antioch, Ca, and a year after I resigned from Cisco in 2000, I accepted a position as the Worldwide Sales Manager for a manufacturing company HQ'd in Hayward, Ca. I have been with the company over six years now and enjoy the opportunity to travel all over the US on business. Sometimes I take my family on these trips and we all enjoy mini vacations from time to time. Living as we do in the Delta, we bought a 30' sport cruiser for the family to explore the waterways and fish, and ski. Life is good. I have a beautiful wife, great kids, a lovely home and great career, but I'll always be a "Broderick Boy" at heart
