Frankie's Story
Life
Born in Paterson 10-06-60. Went to St Boniface from Kinder to 5th and Bishop Navagh Regional from 5th to 8th. Passaic Tech in Wayne for freshman and JFK from 2nd yr to 3rd yr. Went to work at the age of 16. I remember when my Mom signed me out of school in my junior yr, it just didn't feel right. I felt like I was making a big mistake. Now as an adult I see the error's I made not graduating with my friends.
But life went on. I moved out of Paterson in 89 and came to PA. I'm doing very well here, have a good job with a large Furniture retailer Raymour & Flanigan Furniture for the past 6 yrs. I am one of the top ten producers in my region of 7 stores. I have alot of retail experience. In Paterson I worked for Marlows, Mark The Spot, El Dorado Furniture, and Seamans in Paramus.
At an early age I played guitar with the church choir, and remember being inspired by Myrna Lopez...Expand for more
when she sang a song and played the guitar way back in like 3rd or 4th grade in St Boniface.
Today I still play. I play the upright bass with a latin jazz group and also with a salsa orchestra. I have played with many of the salsa singers that I grew up listening too. Music has always been my passion. In Paterson I played with Orch Compasion at the age of like 16.
I have been married for the past 8 yrs and have a 6 yr old son Gabiel. Raised 2 step kids Eric and Arelis and My wife Nancy.
I miss all my old friends back in Paterson.
School
In JFK we had a group of kids we called La Familia. It was coordinated by Robert Colon. We would meet in front of the shcool to decide if we were going to class that day or were going to cut and have what we called a set. We would go to a members house and party and dance and do all those crazy things that teens did.
We had lots of fun.
