Just to catch up... After graduating high school, I bought a motorcycle to cut my 2 hour bus commute to DeAnza down. My father, much opposed to motorcyles gave me the boot, so at 17 I was on my own. I did get into UCLA's engineering program, but my Dad refused to pay. I was so shocked! Must have been the F in Mr. Wada's jewelery making class. "You make ring, you make ring!" All I could think about was the cool necklace I had seen in Vogue. So I spent the whole semester trying to make it. Turned out great, but I still got the F. I spent a year at DeAnza figuring out what to do and working as a dispatcher for the Santa Clara Sheriff's Dept. I also started applying for scholarships and ended up getting one at USF in their nursing program. I loved this because they had a program where you could take classes at the Academy of Art in SF. I studied the art and science of healing for three years, took a year off to travel in Europe and then came back to finish my final year. I event...Expand for more
