Gladys's Story

After attending Pembroke State Univ in 1977, I joined the Navy as a Radioman(or radiowoman). I was stationed at NAS JAX 1978-1980, where I married Fred (ET1) in 1979. We were stationed in GTMO BAY CUBA 1980-1983, where I had my first son Freddie. We went back to Jacksonville Fl where I had my second son Michael. sband retired from the Navy with 26 yrs. We moved to Kissimmee Fl where I worked as a Parks and Recreation Director. After 10 Yrs I relocated to Hickory NC where I now work for Burke County as a Senior Center Director. While in the military I received my BA degree in Parks and Recreation. I love my family, my job, and I love NC. Wish I could see all my old friends from High School.

How cute is this? Braedon had to fill a paper out in school about wishful thinking. This is what he wrote. He's been watching Fox too much. Lol

After Freddie Cubano Anson stuck the nail in his head, his head deflated a little bit, not much, and his voice changed. Lol
Today I went to get quotes for pool tables. Can't wait till our new Senior Center opens up this year. The seniors are going to love the 2 pool tables, exercise equipment and computers we are getting. 😁

On Thursday Braedon received 3 awards, science, reading, and perfect attendance. Good job Braedon!!!

I also found these hand made musical instruments made out of wood. You can hang them on the wall. I only paid $3 for the pair.
For dinner we made a big pot of seafood boil. We had shrimp, scallops, mussels, crab legs, corn, potatoes, and sausage. Mmm.
