Fred's Story
I am living in Austin, TX since 1995 after a six year stop in Seattle. Janene and I (married in 1972) have three sons (Fred, Matthew, David) also in Austin. Our daughter, Stephanie, lives with our two grandsons Nathan and Robert in McMinnville, OR- much too far away, but such is life, right? I spend as much of my free time as possible pedaling my road bike through the hills in the Austin area. This is a great place for cyclists, as the weather is conducive to riding year-round and it is easy to find folks to ride with you. I do not see retirement in the near future, but I am alive, in good health, and have a wonderful wife. Really, how much more does a man need?

teenage (step) grandaughters. Life continues to be great, better than I could have ever imagined when I was young.
I guess it has been even longer since my last visit. Much as changed since then. My son David is also married now. I suppose the greatest change has been the loss of my wife in March of 2016, after more than 43 years of a beautiful marriage. Obviously, it has been challenging dealing with that but I'm really doing quite well. Essentially retired, which has opened the door to increased activity as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, particularly caring for needs of the congregation and visiting those that are in the hospital. I would have to say that my life gives me great satisfaction and meaning. I certainly hope life has been been every bit as good for you so far!
