Fred's Story
Life
I went to Lehigh University and graduated in '81 with a BSEE. I then went to work for IBM in Manassas, VA as an integrated circuit designer, designing computer chips used in military satellites. I worked there until 1993 when IBM sold their Federal Systems Division to another company. I then went to work for several companies including WorldCom, but got out of WorldCom about a year before it went downhill with the big accounting scandal. I now have been working for Raytheon for 3 years designing software for a big military satellite broadcast system (Global Broadcast Service) that sends files and video to military units worldwide - both on land and at sea (many submarines are equipped with this and just have to go to periscope depth to receive it - and can get C...Expand for more
NN and sometimes even sports games like the SuperBowl over our service). Our transmit sites are in Norfolk, VA and Wahiawa, Hawaii - so I've been to Hawaii 8 times in the past 2 years for a total of 4 months!
I've been single until now, but am getting married to Ani on 11/22/05. I met her through a mutual friend and have been to China 3 times for a total of 7 weeks to visit her. We got engaged last December and applied for her Visa back in January, and the Visa was approved on September 28 and we came back to the US together on 10/8. Under the terms of her Visa, we have to get married within 90 days of her arrival in the US - so we are getting married close to Thanksgiving so my family members (most of whom still live near the Ewing, NJ area) can come down for it.
