Fred's Story

Well after graduation I hung out in Germany until August of 88. Moved to Wyoming where I started college at Northwest. In Jan of 1989 I moved to San Angelo TX and started attending Angelo State. I stayed there attending school and working as a bartender until the realization set in that I needed to get benefits so I joined the military. Started out in the Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic stationed Mtn Home ID for 3+ years and cross trained into Geo-physics and moved to Cocoa Beach FL after training. I married in Oct of 1995 and my son was born Sep 1996. In 2000 we divorced and I took an offer to go to work in Colorado Springs for Boeing. Since the ex had custody I moved and started a new career. While at Boeing the career path took many turns and twists as I spent the first 2 years traveling the world working on R&D systems in hyperspectral imaging systems. After that things slowed a little and the travel let up enough I decided to settle down in Colorado. In Jan of 2008 Boeing indicated I'd have to relocate to Washington DC. This prompted me to re-evaluate my situation and life goals. In doing so I was offered a position working for a $50M Agronomy company managing an outlet primarily ...Expand for more
assisting growers with Crop Protection and Crop Nutrients. The opportunity for growth was much better plus living in WY fit better with my lifestyle and personal goals than living in Washington DC. Well that's the nutshell of whats happened since Munich. I've been back to Munich once since graduation when I took my son to Munich and Garmisch in 2005. Walked many of the old haunts was shocked to see how different it was while still looking the same. The BX is a grocery store, movie theater is still there, even the UofM sign was still up on the building on base. Kurts was totally different and the area around the housing area looks strange as well. I missed the s-Bahn stop the first time we went looking for Perlacher Forrest. For excitement my son and I ride Horses, ATV's and go camping as often as possible. Personally I ride my motorcycle about 9000 miles a year, and try to take at least 2 long open destination trips a year. This year I made one around Yellowstone and Teton National Park. I also rebuild Toyota Landcruisers (FJ40) models and work a 80 acre farm that used to be my grandfathers. If you want a more rounded and less direct approach check out my my space page I'm tlc_fj40 on there.
