Fred Jasper:

CLASS OF 1975
Bellevue, NE

Fred's Story

Life I graduated from Bellevue, in 1975. I went on to college, at the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln, where I studied Business Administration and English. After school, I enlisted in the Navy, as a member of the Nuclear Navy. I was very interested in working on new types of energy, to help our ailing energy needs. While in the service, I was blessed to meet my wife, Ruth. She is the most beautiful and smartest lady, I've ever met. We've been married now for 25 years. After getting out of the military, I went back to college, to get my teaching certificate, and to sharpen my mind even more. Shortly after that, I went to work for a few Fortune 500 companies, where I learned the skills of business and public relations. In the 1980's, while visiting back East, with my wife, at her family's home, I had the opportunity, to help be part of the creation, of Foxwoods, one of the most successful Indian gaming casinos, in the country. After a few years, of working in Gaming and Regulations, overseeing the legalities and protection of tribal assets, I was offered work, by the State of CT. I worked administratively, in Corrections. A few years into that, and I was offered a special assignment, with the US Dept. of Justice. A few years after that, I returned to the business world. I was contented to make monies for many companies, and grow in my small network of friends, and business associates. Before any of us knew what happened, we were struck by the tragedy of "9-11." I felt that my place was doing something for my country, and its many peoples. So, I went to work for the Dept. of Homeland Security. Today, I still work for them, training and s...Expand for more
upervising hundreds of employees, and overseeing the entire operations and security, of Tampa International Airport, in Tampa, FL. This is where my lovely wife and I ended up. Over the years, I forgot to mention, that we were blessed by three of the loveliest and brightest daughters, that a Father could ask for. Our oldest, Elizabeth, is 21, and getting married next May. Our middle daughter, Ashley is 16, an honors student throughout her academic career, and planning to become a doctor. Our youngest daughter, Kaitlyn, is 11, and as bright and adventuresome as they come. We never have a dull moment, in our household. Over the years, I have been truly blessed by the many different people, that I have met, been instructed by, in many disciplines, and all of the hardships that life throws at you. I think alot of my old high school classmates, would be dumbfounded at just how beautiful my wife is. I wasn't exactly known to be much of a "ladies' Man," and didn't really date alot in high school. I was busy getting more prepared for college. But, life and times have a way of fooling you. I've aged pretty well over the years, but, lack of sleep and kids can take their toll on you. I don't know if any of my old classmates would even recognize me today. I still have a full head of hair, I'm fit and still workout, on a daily basis. Except now, its to have energy to keep up with my children. My family and I live in a simple, but pleasant home, near the beach, of Indian Rocks, Florida. I hope that my many old high school classmates got to see some of their dreams come true over the years, since we last saw each other, those many years ago. God Bless All.
