Fred's Story
Life
My name is Fred Masci and I will be more than happy to share my life biography with you.
Let me first share some of my work experience with you. I am currently Director of Audit and Security with Gold Kist Inc. located in Atlanta, Georgia. Gold Kist has just completed doing an Initial Public Offering and its stock is now trading on NASDAQ with the symbol GKIS. This will make Gold Kist an accelerated filer with the SEC. Therefore, I have been given the task to lead the effort in the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 internal controls documentation compliance project in an accelerated timeframe.
I have over 26 years of broad-based management experience, including public accounting, SEC and financial reporting, risk-based assessments and audits, business process improvement projects, IT and human resources special projects, corporate compliance programs, fraud investigations, physical and information security programs. My prior experience was with two Fortune 500 companies, the Executive Budget Office for the State of Alabama, and a Big 4 CPA firm (KPMG).
I also served five years active duty and eight years reserve duty achieving the rank of Major in the U.S. Army. One year of active duty was served in Vietnam where I was awarded a Bronze Star.

One is a B.A in History from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and the other is a B.B.A. in Accounting from Columbus State University. I went to high school at Westhampton Beach High School. My two sisters, Susan and Leila as well as my brother, Tom also went to the same high school.
I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
I have been married for 33 years and have three children. Their ages are 32, 22, and 16. The oldest one is a son who was married four years ago and he and his wife, Lisa, have a son born on January 25, 2003. Their second child is due in January 2005. The middle child is also a son who graduated from High School three years ago. I am not going to say what he is doing now. :--)) The youngest child is a daughter who is currently being home schooled. My interests are golf, running, sports, reading and church activities with my family.
I live in a suburb of Atlanta called East Cobb County with a Marietta, Georgia mailing address. It is about 20 miles north of downtown Atlanta. I am a fan of all four professional sports teams in the Atlanta area. I also am a fan of Auburn and Georgia Tech football and basketball programs.
