Paula's Story
Life
My Spouse
I worked with my husband at a Medical Reseasrch Lab. We met in 1981 and married in 1985. He died in April 2007.
My Pets
We always have some animals. At the moment, we have 4 cats and 3 small lizards.
My Kids
My oldest and his wife of 3 years are in the Air Force. My middle kid, Nick, has graduated from high school. He goes active duty in the navy in 09/07. My daughter is 16, and all that goes with it
My Job
I take notes for some disabled students at a Community College. The hours are short, the position is flexible. Sure beats working full-time! I am retired from Vocational Rehabilitation with the state of Maryland.
School
In high school I was either loved or hated. Few folks were neutral about me. I loved the theatre group and the hippies. I traded names for music class with Linda Wills (she teaches at ECC as far as I know now). I think I crushed on all the guys! I borrowed Sharon Bosley's boyfriend and her blonde wig once to make my boyfriend jealous. That worked incredibly well! I had a great love/hate relationship with high school. I probably miss Sharon, Alice Russel, Harry MacMulla...Expand for more
n, Tom Stoner, and Peggy Kinzel the most. I still email Robert Miles, Gary Slavinsky and Sandie Mirable. I heard (from Tom) that Harry died. Sigh. Lost your e-mail when you retired Tom!
College
Frostburg state saw me losing my sense of smell in 1070, living on campus for a year and then moving off campus. I helped to get psi chi on campus. I loved doing all-nighters working on theatre shows. I am only in touch with Mitch Hellman now. I finally learned to read efficiently during college.
Workplace
I retired from Vocational Rehabilitation and now I take notes for disabled students at Dundalk CCBC. My favorite jobs were with the YWCA shelter and the Medical Research Insitute of Chemical Defense at Edgewood. I am most proud that I got up the nerve to serve in the army!
Military
I joined the Women's Army Corps in 1975, as soon as the Vietnam War was over, and became a medic. I stayed stateside all three years, mostly at Ft. Campbell, ky and Ft. Belvoir VA. I left the regular Army to join the Navy and become an officer, but I never went active duty because my husband was drinking too much too often to trust him with our son.
