Freddie's Story

My dear old friends and acquaintances: I'm happy to say that I've had a very nice life thus far. Thought I'd end up far away but after college and a few more years in NYC, I ended up back in Darien in 1972, when I got married... and then New Canaan in 1986. We have 4 kids, who are all out of the nest now. We also have 9 grandkids. Faith in God and a knowledge of his plan of happiness for everyone have been the greatest factors in my good fortune in life. I was on a crash course for a while, but was able to turn myself around at about age 27. I guess some of our old friends from school weren't so lucky. I think about all our old classmates and neighborhood kids often and would be pleased to hear from anyone, who cares to drop a note or join me for lunch (on me!). It would be especially nice to have a reunion of Baker School mates sometime. It's hard to believe how old we are now. Both of my folks are gone now. My father passed away on July 6th 2009, two weeks shy of his 98th birthday. My mom passed away in 1998. they both were able to live out their days in our old home in Darien, where my sister Barbara and I grew up. sixth grade. The show was directed by Bob Sisterhemn, my fifth grade teacher. Bob gave me a cassette recording of the show many years ago and a photograph of the cast. If anyone would like a copy I would be pleased to make one. The entire score was played by Juanita Campo. Where is Juanita now? She did a wonderful job for a little sixth grader. There is even the sound of the Noroton Heights firehouse eight o'clock "whistle" in the background during the show. We all referred to it as the whistle but it was really a loud horn. I am not retired and have no plans of doing so. I have fun in my work. We have a great business in New Canaan. Lynne Leonard Realty, LLC. We have sold many homes in this area and have been fortunate to have some of the nicest people ever as clients. I have built over 30 new homes as well. Our latest development is a ship yard and marina in Bridgeport..."Eagles' Landing". I am also dabbling in some other interesting projects. I look forward to hearing from you and/or seeing you again soon and catching up. Every now and then I run into someone from the old days and it's a real pleasure.....Surprising how we have all changed but remain the same. Don't be afraid to look me up! All the best, Frederic Ohrn
