Fred's Story
Hello out there -
Life's brief summary:( as of FEB., 2010)
After Grant, went to U of I, then Chicago Circle, graduating with Chemistry Degree in '71. That was quite an adventure having been a small town boy! Met my future wife there in '69, married in 73. Avoided Nam. Couldn't find a job in boondocks in 71; Susan, my then fiance, went to the Water Treatment Plant just north of Navy Pier on Biology field trip. She aked tour gude if there were any Chemist openings....... The folloing 32 years I worked there!! , getting my Masters, went in to Water Ttreatment Engineering, and the rest is history.
Mayor Daley made me a buy-out retirement offer I COULDN'T REFUSE and we moved back out to Fox Lake area (Johnsburg) in 2003. We live on a chennel off Fox River. Always close to water!!
Two married sons, 33 & 28....no grandchildren...Expand for more
yet, but looking forward to them. My wife, Susan, still works part-time in Hospital Certification area.
Was very active athletically after,( NOT AT!!), Grant. Got into running craze in mid 70's. Also learned to play and love soccer. These activities took their tolls. Just completed my 5th lower back surgery last Nov., at Mayo ( what a place! ) In 2001 I had serious cervical neck surgery resulting from a soccer incident AT AGE 50!! I hope to play 9 with my sons on Father's day
WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOUS!
Fred
P.S. Yous who left town, you wouldn't believe the size of Grant now. It's easily 3 times the size , with even a much larger athletic field!
Dec., 2013 Update: 4 grandchildren ...3 girls( two 3 yr. olds., 1 2 mo. old ) , one boy ( 1 year old ) that's probrbly it!!
continue playing golf, but back is worsening
